The Tonkinese breed has come from a cross between the Burmese and the Siamese breeds. They have retained certain traits from both breeds that make the Tonkinese great pets.

Predominantly they should be kept as an indoor cat as they tend to wander and do not have good road sense. Cat runs and cages are a good way to keep them contained outdoors and they also can be trained to walk on a leash, which our queen loves.

Behaviour Traits:

The Tokinese are a good family cat as they are very affectionate, friendly and sociable, and basically love being around people. They are very curious and they have to have their nose in just about everything you are doing. The breed has often been described as being “the dogs of the cat world” as they are quite active and have a high intelligence. One of our queen Bliss loves to play fetch and her kittens learn this trick too. They also love to play soccer with us.
